Our children's programs are designed to feed both spiritually and physically. Our hope is to get these children so excited about the Lord that it spreads to their whole family. This is just the beginning of our dream. We hope to have many more programs like this in the future.
Dios Ama a Los Niño’s of Yo Soy Jehova was our first children’s program. It is located in the Roman Esteban community of Jinotepe Nicaragua or as the locals call it Ojo Chal. We started with fifteen kids and have grown at this site to having forty plus kids every Saturday morning. We start the day with prayer and then some singing. We then dive right in to teaching the word of God to the children. We mix in fun and games and we challenge each child to learn one new bible verse per week. We also encourage them to take their learning material home and share with their families. We get the families involved as much as we can. The mothers volunteer on rotation to come and cook a meal for the kids. We provide the food and all the have to do is cook it and help serve. We provide school uniforms each year for all the kids who stay active throughout the year and when we can rain boots for rainy season. The classes are led by either one of the local church leaders or the director Aaron’s wife Yaritza.
Dios Ama a Los Niño’s of Monte Santidad is our second children’s program. It was started in 2016 in the community of Los Encuentros (The Encounters) a rural community of Jinotepe Nicaragua. This community sits 23 kilometers from the center of town and is very rural. It’s only a 15 mile or so drive but with the roads it takes us close to an hour to get there when it is dry. It is ran the same as our other program except the mothers cook at home and bring the food to the church. Some of these mothers carry the food 5 miles or more. God has blessed us and the church and soon we will have a kitchen on site, so the mothers do not have to carry the food so far. There is no power or running water this far out, so it is a simpler program, but we use the same structure and material. Walter Matuz runs our program there. He is assisted by two of the youth in the church and Syda one of the members of the church. We have 65 kids at this site although it is hard for them all to come each Sunday when we have the program. Some of the kids must walk long distances to come and some must cross a river to get to the church. We also provide school uniforms each year for the kids here.
At our Dios Ama a Los Niños program at Monte Santidad church we have three wonderful leaders that help our main leader Walter minister to the children. Crystal, Syda, and Darling. Syda in the center lives beside the church with her husband Joel. She is a huge asset to the program and we are glad to have her. Darling and Crystal are two of the youth in the church that help us each Sunday. They are both attending university classes to become teachers
