Prison ministry
“I was in prison and you came to visit me … I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:36, 40
We are now doing prison outreach ministries at the local prison/jail in Jinotepe, Nicaragua. We will be partnering with local church's visiting and doing worship with both male and female inmates once a month. During our visits we will be singing worship songs sharing scripture and offering prayers for both inmates and guards. Each visit will also include fellowship as we will provide a meal for each inmate. Their normal diet is bread and water. There are usually 35 inmates per cell with no lights other than from the hallway and no running water. Each cell has a barrel of water for drinking and bathing. We are remembering Gods call to minister to those in prison and in chains. The scripture about the whole armor of God comes to mind as the Apostle Paul wrote this while in fact in prison. It can be so encouraging to those who are temporarily in chains that true freedom can come from God.
Ephesians 6:10-18
The Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
We would also like to provide bibles at each visit for those prisoners who need a bible. We will also be leaving material for follow up study once we depart. This ministry does come at a cost. Each visit will cost around $300.00 to provide the food and the learning material each visit. If you feel lead to partner with us in this very important ministry please visit the support page and note Prison Ministry in the note to seller. Most of all PRAY PRAY PRAY
